After 40 years of dormancy, the Franklin County Fair was re-established in the year 2007. This was the bi-centennial year for Franklin County and county commissioner Barbara Finney always had a desire to have the county fair resurrected. She was able to gather a group of volunteers and thus, the first Franklin County Fair began. Over the last 5 years the fair has experienced growing pains but is beginning to thrive. The Franklin County Fair was accepted into the Tennessee Assoication of Fairs in 2010. Since then two Merit Awards have been received by the fair. Merit Awards state that county fairs have met all the rules and regulations set forth by the Tennessee Association of Fairs and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. The Fair Board views this as an opportunity to evaluate the fair each year. The Fair Board continues to grow and is dedicated to the success of the fair and hopes to continue to promote agriculture, and provide fun, family entertainment for all ages.
